Our original cottage has been a charming respite for guests for over sixty years. Hawthorn was built by Chauncey Somes, a descendant of original settler Abraham Somes. It is heated, has one bedroom, bathroom with shower, fully equipped kitchen, and living room. Furnishings include a queen bed, air conditioning, all linens and towels, as well as cable TV, wireless high-speed internet, and great books. Fresh flowers and original art in each room add to the charm of the cottage.
Outside is a bicycle and storage shed in which we keep grills and charcoal for guests’ use. The lawn is open and sunny, with gardens and shade trees near the cottage and a deck with a table and two chairs for sunning and observing Somesville’s resident eagles and ospreys.
